You are nameless, faceless, formless! Go back to the void from whence you came! Okay, so this line is kind of funny, because I can’t help imagine that Galadriel had to do some apologizing to Saruman and Gandalf afterwards, because they came from the Void too. Before the world was created, the Ainur (which includes… Continue reading Hi! I was wondering about those lines Galadriel sais to Sauron: “Go back to the void from whence you came” o sth like that. Does she refer to The Void itself? Because Sauron was never there, right?what was PJ’s intentions with that?

What do you think about Thranduil mentioning Aragorn in the end of tBotFa? I personally think it wasn’t necessary and I would like to hear your opinion :)
Personally, my opinion is also that it really wasn’t necessary. I’ve read somewhere (can’t remember where, or how legit it was) that Peter Jackson thought he was really throwing die-hard fans a bone with the Aragorn reference, but to me it just felt like he was rubbing our faces in the all the things he’s… Continue reading What do you think about Thranduil mentioning Aragorn in the end of tBotFa? Do you think Peter Jackson made the right decision killing off the Master of Lake-town during Smaug’s attack?
Personally, yeah. While the much more open-ended conclusion for his character works in the book, it would have just seemed like another plot hole within the context of the movie. And if he’d survived only to run off, it wouldn’t have made any sense for Alfrid to stay (and while I would have enjoyed less… Continue reading Do you think Peter Jackson made the right decision killing off the Master of Lake-town during Smaug’s attack?
Alfrid Lickspittle
As far as characters created by Peter Jackson for the movies, Alfrid was definitely my least favorite. And, I mean, I get that was pretty much the point, but I really didn’t like Alfrid. I get that the Master needed an underling – someone to talk to, basically. But, to be honest, my first thought… Continue reading Alfrid Lickspittle
So did you really like Tauriel as a character? I found her beyond awful tbh, and not just because she wasn’t in the book.
I liked her quite a bit. I feel like Tauriel, Bard, and Bilbo should form a Trio of Rationality. Lots of solid, practical decision-making going on over there, and I like it! But no, really, I thought Tauriel was great. She fit into Middle Earth really well, I thought her relationship with Kili was pretty… Continue reading So did you really like Tauriel as a character? Um, for someone who knows so much you missed something obvious. The movie timeline is different from the book timeline. So stop complaining about Aragorn in BOTFA.
Man, I really wish that editing a post affected the reblogs. I got over-excited when I wrote the post about Aragorn and Legolas after tBotFA and forgot to include a link to my post about the movie/book timeline issue. Luckily, though, there have been a lot of people happy to explain this themselves in comments… Continue reading Um, for someone who knows so much you missed something obvious. This may be a little irrelevant but what actors did you like in BotFA and were there any that you weren’t very fond of?
I don’t think there was a single actor I didn’t like (or at least like disliking, in the case of the Master and Alfrid.) But my particular favorites for this movie were: Lee Pace Evangeline Lilly Martin Freeman
Not really a question. I just read somewhere that the extended version of BOFA will have 30 minutes of extra footage which may include Thorin’s funeral and possibly the ascension of Dain and/or Bard. I sure am hopeful.
I’m really hopeful about the extended edition too, but (and this little rant isn’t directed at you, sorry) that doesn’t excuse the bizarre plot holes in the theatrical version of the movie. The point of an extended edition/director’s cut is to provide more of the awesome movie you saw in the theater. It’s not to… Continue reading Not really a question. Just curious, do you think people would’ve liked the hobbit movies better if they haven’t read the books first? As most of the things that are issued are the differences of the movies and the book.
Eh, I’m going to say no for two reasons: I have relatives who didn’t read the book and didn’t really like the movies (they don’t hate them or anything, but they don’t love them either.) I’ve mentioned this a few times, but feel guilty every time I say it: I don’t really like The Hobbit,… Continue reading Just curious, do you think people would’ve liked the hobbit movies better if they haven’t read the books first? I’m currently wondering about distances in Middle-earth. I was very confused in DoS already, when Gandalf & Radagast traveled from Mirkwood east of the mountain to the Nazgûl tomb in Rhudaur west of the mountains in an instant (shortly after Gandalf & the dwarves crossed the mountians with great difficulties) and then go right back to Mirkwood/Dol Guldur. And now Legolas & Tauriel travel to Gundabad and back just as fast. Did PJ just ignore the time it should actually take to make these trips?
That’s the only explanation I can come up with, to be honest. Even on horses, as opposed to traveling by foot, each of those journeys should have taken a couple weeks. Which might work for Gandalf and Radagast’s journey to Rhudaur, but all the trips taking place during tBotFA (which, as far as I can… Continue reading I’m currently wondering about distances in Middle-earth.
